This was release on our s/t cd in 2007.It was originally titled "astroturf", but my guitar player, John said the bass line was crazy...like a soundtrack of a bull in a china shop...I thought it was funny as hell, and it stuck.

This song was written while I was working an office job in a warehouse, normally I work in the warehouse, which I was trying to get away from at the time...and then I was dealing with a whole other slew of bullshit...that's where the first line comes from: the other side of the grass aint greener, it's astroturf.

This song basically deals with alpha male bullshit, corporate america, and the underlying fighting that goes with trying to climb the corporate ladder, so to speak. It was also inspired loosely on the book High Rise, by J.G Ballard, in which a high rise has it's own society, school, supermarket, etc. There are even classes in the infrastructure...the rich having the most luxurious apartments on the upper floors, poor are on the bottom...and people start warring against eachother.

Lyrics

The other side of the grass, aint greener...

It's astroturf.

A sense of urgency, challenge the alpha,

The dog within craves the pack.

False smile, drenched in, deceit.

Upscale buildings, a front to warfare.

Human nature at lowest, primordial state,

When backs are turned, throats are cut.

Clown soul, power trip,

Soundtrack of a Bull in a China Shop.
